World Compliance launches campaign to stem corruption
MIAMI, August 2010: WorldCompliance, the leader in Open Source Intelligence announced the launch of a new element in its global effort to battle corruption. WorldCompliance is sponsoring a world-wide contest to allow participants to elect the most corrupt public official by submitting candidates and casting their vote at www.theendofcorruption.info. The ambitious slogan “The End of Corruption” serves to raise awareness and to allow people from all around the world to take an active role by exposing the purveyors of corruption. World Compliance aims to spearhead a network of persons committed to ending corruption - a collaboration that will unmask corrupt officials wherever they exist, and ultimately helps put an end-to-corruption.
“Corruption hurts everyone, whether directly or indirectly, whether living in an industrial or an emerging nation. It has a devastating effect on developing nations by diverting funds into illicit channels. The effects of corruption are felt most in Africa where annually an estimated $150 billion are stolen, but it really is a global issue”, said Dirk Mohrmann CEO of WorldCompliance.
“Transparency is one of the most powerful enemies of corruption… ” This contest is the first of a series of Open Source projects that we are going to launch over the next months to increase the risk for anyone who is trying to divert funds by accepting bribes ”, added Mr. Mohrmann.
“Throughout our materials you will see an icon with the phrase “No bribe”, surrounded by a circle with a line drawn through it. This is an insignia, our pledge to help stamp out corruption where ever it exists and help return ill-gotten funds back to their countries rightful owners”, Mr. Mohrmann emphasized.
